May Newsletter

April was quite the rainy month. But you know what they say, April showers bring May flowers! During the month of April, we provided food and essential personal items in 64 different cases helping families and individuals in need. Our food pantry is open Monday through Friday from 9-3. If you or someone you know is in need of food, please give us a call to schedule a pick up.

100 Envelope Fundraising Challenge
Welcome to our 100 Envelope Challenge! The process is quite simple. Choose a number on our envelope board and that is the dollar amount of your donation. You can mail it in, bring it by and say “Hi,” or donate via PayPal on our website, www.fsaglensfalls.org. Members of our Board of Directors are also distributing envelopes to be filled. Double Dipping is encouraged! When all of the envelopes are returned, you will have helped us raise $5050 to provide assistance and hope to our families and individuals in need. We’ve already raised $792 towards our goal thanks to your support! Check out our Facebook page for updates on our progress to fill all 100 envelopes.

Outdoor Fridays
Outdoor Fridays is back! The first date was held at the end of April and was a success. We will continue holding this event every Friday starting at 10 am, weather permitting, throughout the summer. Clothing, produce, household items, and information on services will be available at no charge.

Please note: parking for Outdoor Fridays is only available on the street in front of our building. Please DO NOT park in the neighbor’s lot.

Hidden Gems Resource Fair
We will be attending the Hidden Gems Resource Fair on Friday, May 27th from 2pm-6pm at the Fort Edward Yacht Basin, located at 159 Broadway in Fort Edward. The resource fair is hosted by the Adirondack Rural Health Network, in collaboration with partnering organizations, and will highlight resources in our local communities including healthcare, health insurance, food assistance, etc. There will be food, giveaways, and information from several organizations regarding programs and resources available for community members. We hope to see you there!

Tri County United Way Community Events
Tri County United Way is celebrating its first ever 518 Day Celebration, in conjunction with the United Way of the Greater Capital Region. They will be hosting several events throughout the community this month, including a blood drive on May 19th and a regional food drive to benefit the Glens Falls School District’s Summer Backpack Program. Check out these flyers for more information!
