March Newsletter

It’s March, and it’s almost time to change the clocks again. The extra daylight will be a welcome addition to our lives as we look forward to spring. This past month, we provided food to 64 families. We were also able to provide other tangible items to people in need, including clothing, coats, blankets, and dishes.

Thank You!

We owe a big thanks to Open Door Mission for sharing their gleaning with us every week. Because of them, we’re able to provide fresh bread and produce in our food boxes, as well as the occasional yummy treat! So thanks to Open Door Mission for sharing those goodies!

Outdoor Fridays

Spring is coming quick and we’re already planning ahead to resume Outdoor Fridays sometime in April. Outdoor Fridays is our weekly outdoor distribution event that was a huge hit last summer. We will set up in the driveway and have many items available at no charge. These items have been generously donated by the community, and include adult and children’s clothing, infant aid items, personal care items, fresh produce, and more. Stay tuned for more details!

A Success Story

February was a snowy month, and with snow comes cold. We have had several clients struggling to keep their houses and families warm lately. From broken furnaces to increasing heating prices, it’s been a tough month to stay warm. This month, a family came to us in need of a space heater. They had two small children, were out of oil, and the oil company was behind on deliveries. The oil was already paid for through HEAP, but the company wasn’t going to be able to refill the family’s tank for at least another week. We were able to provide this family with a brand new space heater to use, just in time for a snow storm to arrive!
