June Newsletter

Happy June! During the month of May, we provided food and essential personal items in 137 different cases helping families and individuals in need. Our food pantry is open Monday through Friday from 9-3. If you or someone you know is in need of food, please give us a call to schedule a pick up.

We have seen a noticeable uptick in food pantry requests over the last couple of months. Whether this is due to Emergency SNAP allotments ending, rising food prices, or some other reason, the impact is clear: people are hungry. We wouldn’t be able to meet this increased need without the help of our valuable volunteers, Lorraine and Janet, who spend all day with us once a week to answer phone and fill food pantry requests. Thank you, Lorraine and Janet!

Tri-County United Way 100 Year Celebration
For their 100 Year Celebration, Tri-County United Way held a virtual scavenger hunt and after-party last month. Not only was our agency one of the stops during the hunt, we got to participate, too! Thanks for putting on a fun event, Tri-County United Way. We look forward to what you’ll accomplish over the next 100 years.

5-1-8 Day Food Drive: Thank you!
A big thank you goes to Tri-County United Way and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks for putting together such a successful food drive to benefit our food pantry. What a great way to celebrate 5-1-8 day! Altogether, we received over 8.5 large storage bins with non-perishable food items for families and children throughout our Tri-County region. Thank you for your support!

A Special Thanks
Thank you to First Presbyterian Church of Glens Falls for the amazing donations of personal care items and cleaning items. Thanks to those church members who made numerous trips over to our agency to drop off the donated items. Sometimes, it’s too easy for us to take for granted the little things we have, like laundry detergent and dish soap. But for others, these things are luxury items that aren’t as easy to obtain. Your generous donations will help many of our clients have one less necessary item to worry about being able to afford this month. Thank you!
