Punxsutawney Phil didn’t see his shadow last week, which means spring is on the way! Last month felt like a never-ending January, but we’ve been here providing food and assistance to a steady stream of families and individuals. During January, we provided food and essential personal items in 147 different cases helping families and individuals in need. Our food pantry is open Monday through Friday from 9-3. If you or someone you know is in need of food, please give us a call to schedule a pick up.
A Special Thank you
Thank you to Tri-County United Way, North Country Subaru, and Operation Warm! We received shoes and socks, and warm jackets to distribute to children in need. We are so grateful for these partnerships!
COVID-19 Health Disparities
Our grant through NYSDOH is active and we have working to help address COVID-19 health disparities among high risk and underserved populations. Our outreach is targeting people experiencing homelessness and those living in rural areas. We have been distributing timely information through our food pantries, in person, and through our other programs. We are having conversations with people about the information. We developed a resource card for those experiencing homelessness called “Project in Hand” that has answers to questions we hear daily such as “where can I get a meal” or “I don’t feel well, where should I go?” Weather resistant and ready to hit the road in a backpack or pocket. We will be traveling to collaborative agencies, food pantries and outreach events to distribute materials and have conversations. Keep a look out for us…
Thanks to those who have shared their thoughts and experiences with us over the past month. It is so nice to get to know you!
