September is here!

Thank you to all who gave their support for our Feet First Program. We were able to help more than 400 children start the new school year with their best foot forward! We hope every family has a safe school year and stays healthy during this long pandemic.

For many, it is still summer and the sweetest part of the harvest is just beginning. Oddly enough, Halloween candy is out on the shelves—two months’ time ahead of schedule. It is September and Christmas seems too far away to fathom. However, like the taste Halloween candy, the smell of cinnamon, allspice, and clove in that fall pumpkin spice latte is telling you differently. It is saying, “It’s almost The Holidays! Prepare!” At least that’s how we are feeling at Family Service Association.

Oh, we are preparing… and if you are preparing too, and are looking for ways to contribute during the Holiday Season, please reach out to us to consider adopting a family this holiday.

And if you are in need of help this holiday season, we are taking calls for Adopt a Family on October 13th, 2020 at 9:00 am. That is the day after Columbus Day.

What Family Service Association Offers

Through this long stretch of the COVID-19 pandemic, Family Service Association is here to help. We are ready to support our most vulnerable community members who need food, personal care items, and financial assistance. In addition, we serve as the Coordination Center for Adirondack Wellness Connections; an online platform that connects health care providers and community based organizations in a way that helps continue the care and support our most vulnerable population needs. Whether it is helping someone connect to a source for emergency assistance or help finding a care provider, Adirondack Wellness Connections is there to serve.

A Special Thanks!

A personal shout out for Fresh Food Collective, Victory Garden, and Master Gardener Shellie for providing our community members with fresh local produce this summer.

Our Guidelines

Throughout this month we will operate as we have been. All financial, food, or personal care item assistance requests must be done over the phone. If anyone needs food, just give us a call. We can put a box of food together and place it on our distribution table at the rear of our building at a convenient time to pick-up. This is so we can maintain proper social distancing. We also require visitors to wear masks.

We understand this has been a trying time for all of us. Thank you for your cooperation with our guidelines.

Please give us a call if you are in need. Our number is (518) 793-0797.
